True, this group page actually doesn't see a lot of use (considering we have our
own forum). Usually when we need to pass messages, we use the mod forum or
PM/MSN.
Since your group admin hasn't been on in over a week, and your group mod hasn't
been on in, well, forever, I made BlkLotus a group admin. If toujin1 objects,
BlkLotus can simply be demoted again.
BTW I can delete this post later, I just put it here for notification.
I think I figured out how to restore someone to admin status for this group- I
need to know who's the founder though. Someone send me a PM please? Thanks.

Sounds like fun but wouldn't it be more of a one sidedd
fight
Um, yeah. Quick fix: give the other side ninjas! (especially if they're
kunoichi! *drool* )
Quote: Is it just luck/coincidence
of noticing two similar usernames?
Yes.
Ok, real answer: if you go to the member index and go straight to the last page,
oftentimes accounts that have just been created won't show an IP address yet, so
they'll show as account created 2 days ago, last online 1886 weeks or something
like that. If somebody assembly-lines a whole bunch of accounts, they'll often
show up right next to each other.
But past that, it's sort of intuition and luck. Like if you see
"qwerty987" or something, you could search all qwerty's and see if
there's, say a whole page made within a 3 hour period. I'm going to bed now but
I hope this helps. Ciao!
Howdy! This is gonna be loooong, brace yourselves...
Ok, I wanted to make an announcement about some parasitic activity I've
uncovered. In the last 3 days I've found 3 people multi-accounting. One person
had 7 accounts, another one had 10, and the worst one had close to 100. We
banned all 100 of them (well, EP did) but he has some sort of IP masker and
apparently uses Roboform or something to make more accounts. I won't post the
list here, but for those who want to see what I'm talking about, do a member
index search of all males from Alabama, and look for the crossed-out names that
are all 12 letters. Not quite as extensive as the yhnujm saga, but that one
guy's dangerous. (Yes, yhnujm### is IP banned out of all his 235 accounts. Poor
baby.)
If anybody else thinks they see activity like this, here's some tell-tale signs
to look for: numerous accounts with very similar usernames (examples: abc01,
abc02 ... abc10; aoshi666, shinomori666, hanya666, ajime666; you get the idea).
Also, most times those usernames will register from the same country and roughly
the same age, be created within 20 minutes of each other chain-assembly fashion,
and have 0 activity on them.
If you see accounts that follow this pattern, then post your suspicions in the
Banned Members thread of the Mod forum if you can post there; if not, PM me or a
mod and we'll gladly forward it there.
Okay, that's about it; I apologize for the length. Ciao!
Check this one out- very
very "Awww!" Somebody that has far more graphic skills than I do might
be able to extract some of it and do a "bed-time" type wall. But it
also looks very nice on its own!
For anybody that takes it, comments are very much appreciated, I did work about
3 hours on this thing and went to bed at 7 in the morning.
P.S. If this post violates policy, I'll remove it, but I saw nothing specific in
the policy pages.
Just in case nobody's heard, there's a massive sweep of the galleries in
progress (details here).
We need to help the mods get this done, 'cause Google's threatened to cut the
purse-strings, so compliance is a very high priority, whichever way you feel
about ecchi stuff.
Quote: Just a heads up to everybody
it seems we have a disgruntled member/leecher
I checked his UP- he's been a member for 27 weeks, and has a
grand total of 13 posts and no submissions. And he dares to run his mouth.
Ok, I thought I'd toss some thoughts in here. Before I even get started, these
are my opinions, and do not necessarily
(well, ok, they probably don't) reflect that of MT or its staff. There, that was
my disclaimer
I already made a pretty long post here
so I won't repeat it all, but basically it's about advertising money- Google
hosts MT's advertising, so Google holds the "purse-strings", so to
speak. Trying to find another ad hoster or take donations would get problematic
really fast, as I said in my post. Basically, we're complying with Google's
rules because we live under their "roof," in an economic
sense.
Now, that being said, I'm sort of in the middle of all this. I have italics on
my name, so I'm basically expected to help out Sheqel and the mods. But, I'm
also in the ecchi club. I had to report one of my own scans to not feel like a
hypocrite reporting anybody else's. (At least I didn't cut up my Cherrysoft
artbook already.)
The bottom line is, this is going to hit hard. But I have put a few notes in the
Mod Forum thread dealing with this, and I've made a few pointed suggestions:
first- that they stick with the quarantine system instead of immediately
deleting things outright, second- that after we've complied with the purge to
Google's satisfaction, that the quarantined items be swept to see if any items
that aren't too revealing and have some artistic value should be restored,
third-and most important- that firm guidelines be set about what is considered
"family safe" and what isn't. The problem right now is that people are
reporting what they feel to be over the line of being suggestive or unartistic,
and everyone draws that "line" at a different place, after all, we're
only human. Hence, my suggestion of a sweep of the quarantined stuff after the
dust settles.
Of course, the admin can easily ignore me; after all, I'm basically just a
member with a few extra powers. But I wanted everyone here to know you're not
forgotten about.
My thing is basically if your submissions get deleted, get a clear, calm
argument ready as to why it shows sufficient artistic value to be re-submitted,
and keep that argument ready to submit it after the dust settles a little bit. The mods don't have time right
now to deal with scores of people asking why "my" items got deleted,
because compliance is top priority at the moment. And whatever you do, don't
bash on the mods or send them hatemail or such; this wasn't their idea and they
don't deserve any abuse over it.
I hope that answers some questions. If you have more questions/ideas, by all
means, shout at my guestbook! floats away trying to catch his breath...
Howdy folks! I wanted to announce some serious nonsense I found recently so
folks can be on the lookout for similar activity. Check out the guy below- it
goes way beyond what's considered
"leeching."
To see why I bring this up, go to the members section, type "yhnujm"
in the search field, hit enter- I'm looking at 239 accounts; I'll bet half my
paycheck that 235 or so are the same person at the same IP address.
(Thought bubble>> "5 free downloads x 239 = The whole gallery in 90
days, wow, I'm smart!")
My guess was correct- this Jedi's IP ban is already in work. I post that to ask
that if anybody sees any suspicious activity like this in the Members archive,
or the bottom of the MT home page, PM the mods. Or if the mods aren't on, PM me
and I can check it out, and post on the Mod forum if need be. Really, it's
rather pathetic- none of those 235 accounts had a single forum post, no
nothin'.
P.S. Counter-parasites win! (There's some people playing Half-Life in here, it's
stuck in my head )
Howdy everybody! I thought I'd introduce myself right quick.
Lessee- I've been into watching anime/collecting backgrounds for about 4 years,
I've been on MT for about 6 months. So far it's been a blast. I don't have
anything written in my userpage yet, but I'm working on that, looking at HTML
tutorials and such. Groups: Chaos-Cross, Ecchi-club, CSI-Minitokyo (whenever
they respond).
I'm pretty sure I got promoted because I've been doing a lot of
behind-the-scenes type work, and it's gotten noticed- so far I have about 1,400
pwn3d reports under my belt, and I've recently submitted about 350 usernames
with foul language in them, they're in work right now. I'll post an update on
that when EternalParadox finishes cleaning those out. (Poor guy...) I have
noticed lots of complaints from people lately; hopefully I can help stem the
tide a little bit. I'd really appreciate any input/advice!
Well, that's about all I can think of right now. Mata ne!
Anyways, thanks for the kudos EP, it's a pleasure to be here. I'd probably have
been here sooner if I'd known there was such an active group like this.
I have been doing a lot of gallery reporting lately, and I've noticed that when
I send PM's to new members politely asking them to remove wallpapers they didn't
do, about half of them apologize and delete the ripped stuff. This tells me that
a lot of these guys aren't maliciously breaking the rules, they're just unaware.
I've already made suggestions about an automated notification system in the
"Are you happy?" thread, so I won't repeat them here, but does anyone
have any opinions about this?
And for my next trick: I'll actually write some stuff on my userpage!
<yells at Eunie>

Alright, time to spam this guestbook!
Is anybody noticing any recurring problems/themes around MT lately? If so, let's put them on the radar.
I was an aspiring member for 18 weeks- I seriously doubt it.
Um, yeah. Quick fix: give the other side ninjas! (especially if they're kunoichi! *drool* )
*waves* n00b here. (Whatever bluSake said), kudasai!

vvv Amen to that! No reports of massive image corruption yet (and there better not be!).
lol, is it just me, or are like 4 people totally dominating this GB?
I did until y'all combed everywhere I had any idea where to look! So I went parasite-hunting instead, lol. Found 4 of 'em.
I'm tired, good night!
Yes.
